Dear Mr. President,

One reason I think we need reduced hunting, is because we need more wild life and it attracts more tourists. The second reason I think we need reduced hunting is because it would improve our nature, so we would see more animals around. The third reason we should have reduced hunting is because we should protect hunted animals, so incase we run out of food so in case its an emergency we can kill and eat them. So Mr. President I ask you to please reduce hunting so we can more tourists around our country, and also to improve our nature. We should only hunt if we really need it because what will happen when that species goes extinct. Then what is to become of the next animal we hunt, will it go extinct to or maybe become very rare. I bet there are millions of people that agree with me and millions that don’t agree, but please Mr. President take this letter and think about it for a while. You will see what I mean soon enough.

Dear Mr.President :

The issue of abortion is greatly increasing in number. We can’t just have a innocent child die because of what
mistakes that their “parents” chose. It was the parents choice in the first place to have a relationship with a wrong guy they have to suffer the consequences that lies ahead of them. Life isn’t just going to be a ticket to the easy life you have to deal with it.

Mr. President I greatly ask of you to please stop this problem in the world that is effecting everyone around us. This is a problem that needs to be fixed right away. We as the people need to stop children who are having relationships at such a young age that are having abortion.
In January 22 at the year of 1973 was the law that a women that wanted abortion could have one because of the statement of Roe V. Wade but, this situation should stop abortion in this year of 2009!

People who are protesting against abortion have been protesting after 30 years of when Roe V. Wade made a decision of when most of the women were getting pregnant so he made a statement in the constitutional rights . still under that statement that he has made I still disagree with his opinion.

The thought of thousands of innocent babies that are dying just brings me into a heart break. I really hope that you give this letter a thought of what is happening today in the United States (and also world wide) and do something about it. Just think of this a chance for a new soul to be born that had no chance to live in this world.

I bet that there are thousands of people who agree with me but, I also think that there are thousands of people who also disagree with me but, this is for the best. to give a new soul a chance to look into the world with baby steps one step at a time.

Dear Mr. President,
My issue is global warming and I believe we need to do something about it. My first detail I am going to talk about is how global warming is affecting polar bears. Second how global warming is how global warming is causing Eskimos to have no food during the winter. Third is how people who live in parts of Alaska and all those places are losing their homes from melting snow. Imagine being a polar bear searching for food and having to swim miles with fur full of water weighing you down and you have no were to rest since there are no patches of ice anywhere and so you drowned from the loss of energy. This is what happens everyday to these poor creatures and many others from global warming. I myself want to be able to see a polar bear before I die and I also believe some poor animal does not need to die from what humans do to the environment and also for future generations to see them it would not be fair to them if they didn’t. “The sea, which used to freeze in October, was now ice-free until Christmas. And even when the sea ice does eventually form, he explained, it is so thin that it is dangerous to walk and hunt on. The changing seasons are also affecting the animals: seals and walruses—still crucial elements of the Eskimo diet—are migrating earlier and are almost impossible to catch. The whole village caught only one walrus last year [2002], after covering thousands of miles by boat.” Ed. Louise of the Gerdes, Detroit Greenhaven press. I think this is really not fair just because of what we have done to make global warming worse people should not have to move to find food and suffer from what we have done. We defiantly need to put this into consideration for the sack of the people of the U.S. I makes me so angry that people today really all around the U.S really don't give a crap about other people and I am not saying that you don' t care but just other people. I believe that someone needs to do something about this and I think you will. Third also has to do with the people of alaska and their protection and that they are able to survive. "All around the town, roads are buckling and houses sagging as the permafrost underneath them thaws." Ed Louise Gerdes Detroit of the Greenhaven Press. Now this is ridiculous I would be so mad at the world right now and like be yelling at people trying so hard to stop global warming. This just put me to my limit how could people let this happen I mean it is down right stupid people need to know more about not only the animals that suffer from global warming but the citizens of the U.S. that suffer from all the carbon we put into the atmosphere every day. I mean I am not asking for you to stop it totally but some day I wish someone will stop it totally just stop it enough to keep there poor people from having to move and spend money, when some might not even have it just because of what we do to our environment also I am not saying that the people that are suffering from global warming in Alaska are not contributing but just to let people know and to keep testing to not use those carbon emissions we put into the earth everyday. This is what I say to you and hope you will do something about.

Dear Mr. President,

My issue is abortions. I’m for it. I mean I don’t support or promote young people getting pregnant. It’s a woman’s choice. It’s their decision to have it. Many people have babies each year and some of them don’t even have choices to have it. Also there are many teens that get pregnant each year. There is rape that goes on and people get drunk and make stupid mistakes and its just totally ridiculous.
Women have choices and if it’s women’s decision not to have a baby it, it’s their body it’s their life. People bring kids into this world and have no clue how to even treat them. We have some people who abuse their children and they are allowed to bring more into this world cause they were being stupid that night and were either too drunk or too high and weren’t able to use protection.
Teens get pregnant and the dads are so young and can’t even support them so everything just goes terribly and some people don’t even mean to get pregnant. We have people who get pregnant and have no money so they use other people’s money and that’s not fair to anyone because we have to pay for it. Sometimes it’s not the right time to have children.
One percent of women gets raped and gets pregnant each year. Would you really want to have a kid from someone who raped you? It just isn’t fair people have there opinions because of religious reasons but do you think if they got raped they would want that kid. People make mistakes and sometime their not thinking right and thing just happen for a reason but seriously would you really want a kid when you’re a teen or if you’ve gotten raped. I know anyone would be scared out of their mind but when your older you know better but when your younger you just don’t know any better sometimes life gets hard but why should we have to put young teens through getting pregnant because of there mistakes.

Sincerely,
HLP

Dear Mr. President, My issue is on adoption. Adoption is a wonderful thing in this world. All kids should have a home no matter what kind of child they are. No I’m not talking about race or their sex I am talking about the way that they act. All kids need a home and a place where they go home every night and lay on a bed. No matter what, everyone does deserve a place to call home.
In this world there are so many kids that do not have a home. To be precise there are over 7 million kids that don’t have what you call a home. Everyday some little kid can be looking everywhere for a home, looking for a place to sleep, a place to eat, a mom. Everyone, no matter who you are, should have a mom. Imagine yourself going home to nothing tonight. Imagine waking up to nothing. Well, right now as we speak over 7 million kids have that feeling right now. They’re living your nightmare.
Over the days and nights many babies have to cry. Little babies that aren’t even a year old have to sit in the cold winters, hot summers, and dangerous environments. Those little babies have feelings, have emotions. Once again imagine that baby or those babies are your kids. Imagine over the nights those babies suffer and those babies have to grow up in a place where there is no place called home. The days go by and the nights go on. There are kids looking at the same moon and the same sky as you are, waiting and hoping someone out there is looking at the exact same thing, feeling the love, and looking at the beauty in the sky. You Mr. President can help these little kids have a HOME have a place were they can be loved. Please respond to this letter I hope that you get the message
I’m trying to send you. Sincerely, Bobb

Dear Mr. President,

Abortions are one of the things I feel strongest about. I think that abortions should be considered murder. Sure it gives "Choice" but it lets a mistake be made with no punishment. How would any of us learn anything if we didnít have punishments? Like police they are there to punish you for speeding if we didnít have police I wouldnít even want to go outside with all the crazy drivers.
People say why should we put young teens through that? Well they can abort a baby up to full turm (9 months) months so switch the question why should we put an innosent little baby through that? We shouldn't and Mr. President you have the power to stop it.
Why should a baby be punished for a parents mistake? If you skrew up once in your life and get pregnet why not give the baby to someone who wants it? One in every five women CAN'T have babys. So why not give it up for adoption? There is NO reason why they cant give the baby up for adoption. There are people out there that spend their whole lives wanting a baby. Either way the baby is going to come out the same way. So give it to someone who will love it. So please help change the lives of people.

Sincerly, Bob

Dear President,
I think we should do something about teenage pregnancy just in the last few years birthrate has gone up, girls’ have not been able to finish school, and girls’ have been putting themselves into danger with their health. These are some reasons I think we should do something about teenage pregnancy.
One issue I think there is, is birthrate. Just in the past few years birthrate has been going up. It started to go down then it went up again another 3% in the year 2006. Time magazine also states some information about the birthrate going up in the past few years. This is one reason I think we should do something about teenage pregnancy.
Another issue is girls’ education. A lot of them they don’t have any ways of going to school and taking care of their education so most of them just drop out. Then they don’t have an education and they don’t have a good enough job to take care of themselves let alone a child or children. This is why this is a big problem with teenage girls’ being pregnant and becoming pregnant. Paul v. Trad from contemporary issues companion has also stated issues with women and their education while also taking care of children. This is another reason why we need to do something about teenage pregnancy.
A third issue is the health risk’s that come along with on top of having a child and it’s not just for the mother it goes for the child too. The health risks get higher for the child and the mother when they are being born or in the long run. This is another really big problem with teenage girls’ being or becoming pregnant. Opposing viewpoint’s America’s youth national campaign to prevent teenage pregnancy also has told some information about this. This is a third reason why we should do something about teenage pregnancy.
This is why we need to help and talk about the risks when you have a child or if you do have a child and help the girl’s that are pregnant. I want him to make centers for mother’s to take their children while they go to school and still maintain to stay in school and be able to pay for them to take their children there. I would also like it if he would talk to teenagers and inform them about the risks and talk with them. This is what I want him to do about teenage pregnancy.

Sincerely,
SL

Dear Mr. President,
You received this letter because I would like to
inform you about the oppressing issue of the increasing fuel prices. They have increased major since last year. I am deeply concerned not only about me but about the community. The gas prices are not the only thing that have increased in price. The economy has risen as well. For example; a lot of people have to file a loan to just get a house. This causes a shortage of money to many families. I am sure they don’t want to have to worry about paying $100 plus at the pump every week. I wouldn’t want to worry about paying the electricity bill every month either.
There are a lot of teenagers that are starting to drive now. Some are un-employed or just starting their high school job. So they may not have all that much money to fill up their vehicle to get to school and back. Most parent make their teenagers pay for most of their stuff and I am sure they don’t even want to worry about coughing up the money for gas to get to school and back.
Lowering the gas prices seems essential right now. Considering the economy is ranged twice as high as last year. You go to the store and a little tub of blueberries is almost six dollars. Some people would like to eat blueberries or make fresh smoothies with out having to spend a lot on just the berries. Gas is out rages! It has risen up to almost four dollars per gallon. If someone has a vehicle that only gets a few miles to the gallon they will be spending a fortune on just gas. That’s not good when they have house payments, car payments etc. to worry about.
The country should not be shutting down any oil refineries because that causes the prices to rise. Not as much gas is being produced so they will have to increase the price to meet up to the standards.
Un-employed high school students cannot always pay their whole paycheck at gas stations for gas. If they are going to college then they need to worry about where they are going to get all the money to pay to get in. They shouldn’t have to worry about asking their parents to loan them money so they can go to school or just so they can go on a trip.
Mr. President, You can help with fuel prices. You can help those families live their life without having to worry about the shortage of money. I don’t expect you to write back but I would like you to put some thought in to any way that is possible to lowering the gas prices.

Thank you,
Brenna K.

Dear Mr. President,
I feel that you could help with drug and alcohol abuse in America. In my 13years of life I have seen what alcohol can do to people especially when they have drank way too much. Same with Drugs. There are many kids who have been put into foster care because their parents abused drugs and or alcohol. In this letter to you I will be explaining why I think alcohol and drugs should be banned from people that abuse them.

First off, I think young teens should not be able to get a hold of any drugs. Personally I think all drugs should be illegal. There is no reason for Drugs in America. All they do is kill you off faster. You could help by stop having people produce Marijuana. Marijuana is the easiest drug to get a hold of in America. There is a study showed that when someone asked teens how easy it would be to get a hold of this drug 23% of kids said it would take an hour or less and 42% said they could get it in a day or less. That’s how easy it is for a teen to get Marijuana. This has increased 14% in the last year. This is why I think you should make all drugs illegal.

Secondly,I think people under 21 shouldn’t have access to any alcohol what so ever. There should be more consequences to people fewer than 21 who drink under the age. This way maybe they will stop doing it. I think you could make it to where they don’t have so many chances before they get into a lot of trouble. If only they knew how much alcohol can kill you.
Thirdly, I think you could make more speeches on how this is a problem. Maybe if this becomes a bigger deal and there are more consequences to drinking under the age and drugs being given and sold to teens. Then maybe just maybe there will be fewer deaths to teens around America, from alcohol poisoning, overdose, ect. I can make a connection with all of this, I have seen young teens get access to alcohol and it only took them maybe and hour or less. The bad thing is, is the young teens accessed this from a 17year old. Now how is that right?

So as a 13 year old I want you as a president to take a part of your time and try and help the abuse of drugs and alcohol around America. The lives of some young teens are in your hands. This Country isn’t perfect, but no country is. This could be one step closer to making it better though.

Sincerely,
Tyler

Dear president,
Poverty in the U.S. has dropped since the 1990`s but it is still a huge problem in America.
The data show that the 1990s brought a sharp reversal in the poverty concentration trend.... The most pronounced change was at the high end of the spectrum. The share of metropolitan poor who live in extreme-poverty tracts, which had jumped from 13 to 17 percent in the 1980s, dropped all the way back to 12 percent in 2000. The share in the 30-40 percent range stayed the same over the decade, but putting these two categories together, the share in high-poverty neighborhoods increased from 25 percent in 1980 to 31 percent in 1990 and then fell back to 26 percent in 2000.
What’s the poverty rate in the U.S. right now well lets find out.
The overall poverty rate in the U.S. metropolitan areas remained virtually constant (11-12 percent) from 1980 to 2000 but with increasing total population, the absolute number of poor people increased from 19.3 million in 1980 to 23.1 million in 1990 and 25.8 million in 2000.
How can we stop poverty?
First we could try to get every one a job but that wouldn’t work because there’s not enough room in businesses or company’s.
Second we could just give away money but wait that wouldn’t work ether because money doesn’t grow on trees.
So obviously there is something for every thing so if we can find it then it will help the world.
This is how we could help fix poverty in the U.S.A.

Sincerely,
Terralyn

Dear Mr. President,

When animal experimentation does not save human lives, an obvious question comes to mind: Why would researchers choose to experiment on animals if it wasn't essential to medical progress? According to Jennifer A. Hurley of the Greenhaven Press, “The answer is, of course, that they wouldn't. No scientist, researcher, or doctor enjoys experimenting on animals, especially if those experiments involve suffering. However, animal-based research is the only safe and effective way to develop the therapeutic drugs and medical procedures that save countless human lives. Would antivivisectionists really begrudge people their lives because a few animals had to die?”
Animal experimentation has been the foundation for medical advances that have changed the world. Insulin for diabetes; organ, corneal, and bone marrow transplants; antibiotics for pneumonia; surgery for heart diseases; and the development of nonaddictive painkillers—all of these astounding medical breakthroughs were made possible through animal testing. This is a huge problem in America. Scientists risk the lives of animals just for dumb experiments. I think that we should stop those experiments because its just like risking your life for that kind of stuff.
What could be a better model for humans than actual human cells? However, in vitro research has limitations. A cell culture cannot tell us the effects a drug will have on an entire human body, nor can it help doctors develop new surgical procedures. Computer-based approaches to medical research also have limitations. As David Hubel, the 1981 Nobel Prize winner in medicine states, "You can't train a heart surgeon on a computer, and to study a brain, you need a brain; a man-made machine is no substitute."
Now that is what I think we need to do bout animal rights and animal experimentation.

Sincerely,
Emily

Dear Mr. President,

I believe you should legalize narcotics in America for many obvious reasons. Such as not only is it our right but it would be an economic boost, a most probable decrease in crime, some drugs are medical, it would help lower the spread of diseases.

If you legalized Narcotics the state of our country’s economic crisis would maybe simply disappear. Our country could sell narcotics and get a substantial raise in money intake per year. We wouldn’t worry about if we are going into a great depression anymore because we would get a flow of money not only from places like Austria, Canada, Amsterdam, and all other places that legalized narcotics but we would also get money from inside the nation. Because I know we have a large amount of drug users even though it’s illegal. That could be a great income rise. Also there would be more jobs open such as growing/making, packaging, and upgrading. Increase in jobs means higher economy.

If we legalized drugs crime lords would lose a way to increase their cash flow, which would really suck for them. Lower cash flow would mean fewer weapons they could afford. They also would lose the respect of those who would follow them. The biker gangs would hit an all time low without drug money coming in. The Mafia would also hit a low without drug money either. Plus the biker gangs and the mafia only work together because of selling drugs. That would really help law enforcement because the bikers would sell out the mafia for personal gain. All alliances would end between gangs without the shared selling of drugs. Also users wouldn’t have to resort to criminal measures to get there next fix and to support their habit.

Drugs are also medical too. Instead of using harmful steroids asthmatics could use a small dosage of Marijuana. Also when you have ADHD your hyper and fidgety but if you used Pot instead of Ritalin you could use Pot, which would help you slow down and concentrate. Ritalin can lead to depression ,which is a severe mental condition in this country. For people who use drugs such as heroine, crack, etc. drugs which use needles wouldn’t need to use dirty needles because they could get new needles at the store. Without the need to use dirty needles this could help lower the spread of HIV and AIDS. That would be a global relief because without the spread we could help lower the spread throughout America.

So other then these excellent reasons it is our right to use narcotics. We came to this country to escape the oppression of our human rights. English rule was not good for our minds so why would us not being able to do something we choose be any different. We could set up recreational areas for usage so we could monitor usage. People who use Acid, Shrooms, LSD, PCP, and other mind altering drugs could be helped when coming down from a trip. We could help junkies kick their addiction and only if they truly want afterwards, but this time we could not allow it to become an addiction. Allowing drugs could also keep kids from doing them because they wouldn’t be cool because they wouldn’t be secrets.

Sincerely,
Dillon W
